Job Title: Epic Data Architect / Epic BI Developer Location: Oakland, CA OR San Francisco, CA Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Epic Data Architect and Integration Specialist with proven expertise in Epic Cogito to join our healthcare IT team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong technical background in data architecture, Epic systems, and healthcare interoperability, who can also bridge the gap between technical teams and clinical/operational stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the design and development of Epic data solutions utilizing Cogito • Collaborate with business and clinical stakeholders to elicit and document data requirements. • Build and support Epic self-service analytics tools including Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer, and Radar Dashboards. • Perform data discovery, profiling, and analysis to inform ETL development and data architecture decisions. • Design and implement source-to-target mappings, data pipelines, and integration processes. • Integrate healthcare data using APIs, flat files, HL7, FHIR, CDA, and CCDs. • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for analytics and operational use cases. • Act as a subject matter expert on Epic Cogito architecture and workflows, ensuring scalable and secure analytics environments. Required Qualifications: • 3+ years of hands-on Epic Cogito experience, including implementation or optimization. • 3+ years of experience in Epic data architecture and integration (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle). • 10+ years in technical data roles with a focus on ETL, data engineering, or BI. • Deep knowledge of Epic modules, data models, and self-service reporting tools. • Strong command of healthcare data exchange standards: HL7, FHIR, CCD, CDA. • Experience in data profiling, logical mapping, and building API-based ingestion solutions. • Proficiency in SQL for complex query development and performance tuning. • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities.
