Duration: Long Term
Must-Have Skills: PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Unit Test Writing, Node, API Development, AWS Cloud, AWS Lambda, Terraform.
Job Description:
• This cloud engineer position will be supporting four Supervision and Regulation cloud migrations. Engineer should have strong communication skills with fellow engineers, Product Owner, and business partners as well as a collaborative development mindset.
• Ideally the candidate would have experience working within GovCloud and/or ability to conform to our rigid security restrictions, and bring innovative solutions to common problems, as we likely won’t have the ‘industry standard solution’ available to us.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and assist in the facilitation of team management by directing the work of and setting technical direction for other team members in an open, positive, and collaborative manner.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new products, processes, standards or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results based on business requirements.
• Familiarity with Industry software development methodologies, standards, and architecture frameworks.
• Demonstrate proficiency with unit testing
• Document, analyze, and test to resolve problems. Implement solutions and provide on-going support.
• Apply appropriate software/system development life cycle methodology and collaborates with others in development work to achieve desired results.
• Provide comprehensive consultations and analysis at the highest technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments including identifying portions of the organization’s IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend solutions, identifies ways to reuse existing code, and designs prototypes using current or emerging technologies.
• Manage the implementation of cloud services and integrations with in-house applications and systems.
• Position will support migration of four .net applications to AWS cloud. Most important skills to have are PostgreSQL, Typescript, and Jest or other test writing frameworks.
• Proven technical competency in two or more industry standard application development languages, frameworks, patterns or platforms required.
• Experience with cloud platform Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required.
• Experience in information assurance, security management, security policy, security architectures, identity management, access control solutions, and/or enterprise application integration required.
• Proficiency with the following or similar technologies: AWS cloud native services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), PostgreSQL, GitLab, Git, Typescript, React, etc. is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Agile software development principles and frameworks preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills combined with creative thinking and ability to work on abstract concepts.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the team as a leader.
• Citizenship and background check required for this position.
