About the Role
PG&E is seeking a Senior Technical Architect (Technology Lead) to support innovative clean energy and electrification initiatives. This role focuses on rapidly prototyping and implementing AI-driven and automation-based solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will blend technical hands-on expertise with strong collaboration skills to deliver scalable, modern technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and build AI-powered tools and automation systems using low-code/no-code platforms, APIs, and automation frameworks.
β’ Develop and implement AI agents to support programs such as EV selection and online home assessments.
β’ Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy technology solutions in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
β’ Bridge early-stage pilot solutions into enterprise environments while ensuring scalability and compliance.
β’ Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.
β’ Stay current on emerging AI, automation, and energy technologies to drive innovation.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
β’ 3+ years of software development or technical implementation experience.
β’ Proven experience building systems using AI, including agents or AI-powered tools.
β’ Strong background in low-code/no-code development, APIs, and automation tools.
β’ Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environments.
Desired Qualifications
β’ Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, or advanced AI/ML systems.
β’ Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
β’ Experience in product management, writing user stories, and collaborating with customers.
β’ Background integrating pilot programs into enterprise IT systems.
β’ Knowledge or passion for clean energy, EV adoption, or home electrification technologies.
β’ Prior experience in innovation labs or startup environments.
Work Model
Hybrid β typically one day per month onsite at PG&Eβs Oakland office, with occasional additional visits as required. Out-of-state candidates are acceptable but must travel to Oakland on short notice (at own expense).
