Job Title: Backend Graphics Developer
Job Description
This role involves working with graphics drivers, understanding their interfaces and functionality, and leveraging Windows operating systems to optimize hardware capabilities and manage desktop configurations. The primary focus is on backend development, working with Windows APIs, inter-process communication, and interacting with graphics interfaces and drivers.
Responsibilities
• Develop and optimize backend systems for Windows applications using C/C++.
• Interact with graphics drivers from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel to enable hardware acceleration and manage desktop manipulation.
• Work with APIs such as Vulkan, DirectX, and OpenGL to integrate with desktop applications.
• Engage in shader development and performance optimization to enhance graphics rendering.
• Optimize GPU output for graphics rendering and shader performance.
• Develop the graphics language and integrate company-specific content into applications.
• Collaborate with a small, dedicated team to ensure high-quality product development.
Essential Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Computer Graphics.
• 5+ years of experience in Windows desktop application development, focusing on backend systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
• Experience with graphics rendering techniques and architecture.
• Familiarity with APIs such as Vulkan, DirectX 11 or 12, and OpenGL.
• Experience in shader development and performance optimization.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
• Familiarity with AMD graphics libraries and Nvidia CUDA.
Work Environment
The position is based in a small, collaborative team of 8-10 members in Portland. The team engages in regular employee appreciation activities, fostering a positive and supportive work culture. Initial training will be provided for six months, offering a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and take ownership of the product.
