Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and passionate IIoT Edge Engineer to design, develop, and deploy edge computing solutions for our industrial systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for connecting machines, sensors, and controllers to edge gateways, enabling real-time data processing and integration with cloud or on-premises analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Edge Device Configuration & Deployment:
β’ Configure, deploy, and manage IIoT edge devices (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Siemens IoT2040, Azure IoT Edge, etc.)
β’ Interface with industrial equipment (PLCs, SCADA, OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.)
Data Acquisition & Processing:
β’ Design and implement data acquisition pipelines for edge-based processing
β’ Develop and deploy microservices or containers to run analytics or preprocessing at the edge
Connectivity & Integration:
β’ Establish secure connectivity between edge devices and central/cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, etc.)
β’ Collaborate with IT/OT teams to ensure reliable and secure data transfer
Monitoring & Maintenance:
Set up health checks, diagnostics, and remote monitoring of deployed edge solutions
β’ Perform firmware and software updates as needed for security and performance
Collaboration & Documentation:
β’ Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and OT engineers
β’ Document system designs, deployment configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related fields
β’ 5+ years of hands-on experience in IIoT or Edge Computing environments
β’ Proficient in programming/scripting languages: Python, C++, or Node.js
β’ Experience with IIoT protocols: MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, REST APIs
β’ Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
β’ Familiarity with Linux-based systems and edge platforms (Azure IoT Edge, AWS Greengrass, Balena, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with real-time video/image processing (e.g., OpenCV on edge)
β’ Understanding of cybersecurity principles for industrial networks
β’ Exposure to machine learning models deployed at the edge
β’ Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems (PLC, DCS, HMI)
β’ Certifications such as Azure IoT Developer, AWS IoT Specialty, or ISA/IEC 62443 security standards
Soft Skills:
β’ Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
β’ Ability to work in cross-functional and multi-site teams
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
β’ Willingness to travel to industrial sites for deployment and support
