Role description
Role: Kafka Admin Architect (Confluent Focus) Location: Remote Duration: 6–12 Months (Contract) Key Responsibilities: • Architect, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters using the Confluent Platform. • Monitor and configure Kafka Brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, Schema Registry, and Control Center. • Implement topic-level configurations, RBAC, TLS/SASL, and auditing. • Automate deployments and infrastructure provisioning using Helm, Ansible, and Terraform. • Design and implement Disaster Recovery and replication strategies with Confluent Replicator or Cluster Linking. • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and enable Kafka infrastructure automation. Required Skills: • 5+ years in distributed systems / platform engineering. • 2+ years in Kafka administration with Confluent. • Deep understanding of Kafka internals, Kafka Connect, and Control Center. • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting. • Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana. • Strong DevOps background with IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform) and container orchestration. Preferred Skills: • Experience with Confluent Cloud or AWS MSK. • Familiarity with Kubernetes, GitOps workflows. • Prior work in banking/financial services domain.
