Job Details • Job Title: LAMP Stack Developer • Job Location: 100% Remote (US-Based) • Job Duration: 9 Months (July 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027) • Job Type: Contract • Industry Focus: Healthcare Technology Enterprise Infrastructure Job Overview As a Senior LAMP Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, scaling, and safeguarding business-critical backend applications for a leading enterprise healthcare organization. This role requires a blend of core software engineering, modern automated testing paradigms, and production-level automation script construction. You will play a crucial role in enhancing search capability via Apache Solr while spearheading DevSecOps initiatives—including secure pipeline engineering, automated dependency hygiene, and enterprise-grade secrets management. Operating in a high-availability environment, your work will directly optimize application resilience, systemic scale, and data compliance standard protocols. Core Competencies To be considered for this role, candidates must possess explicit, verifiable experience in the following "Must-Have" technical domains within their resume: • Core LAMP Stack: Extensive enterprise engineering experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP. • Search Infrastructure: Hands-on experience configuring, indexing, and optimizing Apache Solr. • Automation & Scripting: Demonstrated proficiency writing production-level Python scripts for utility, tooling, and data manipulation. • Advanced Testing Frameworks: Strong background establishing robust automated testing suites (unit, integration, and regression) utilizing modern PHP testing frameworks. • DevSecOps & Secrets Handling: Practical knowledge of secure CI/CD pipeline building, container/dependency vulnerability scanning, and enterprise-grade secrets management. Key Responsibilities • Application Engineering: Design, develop, enhance, and support high-performance enterprise applications built on the traditional LAMP stack framework. • Search Engine Optimization: Build, scale, and maintain Apache Solr implementations. Manage Solr indexing, schema/analysis configuration, query relevance engineering, and performance tuning within clustered deployment architectures. • Automated Testing & Quality: Author and maintain rigorous automated testing suites for PHP applications to maximize stability, guarantee regression protection, and ensure high release confidence. • Python Automation: Develop and deploy production-grade Python scripts to execute system automation, background operational tooling, and platform reliability tasks. • Secure CI/CD Integration: Implement and optimize secure pipeline-as-code automation workflows, embedding automated security controls, code scans, policy checks, and mandatory approval gates. • Enterprise Secrets Governance: Own the lifecycle management of application credentials, including secure storage, automated rotation policies, RBAC access controls, and strict compliance auditing. • Dependency & Software Supply Chain Hygiene: Manage application dependencies and artifact repositories with a focus on versioning control, vulnerability patching, license management, and SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) awareness. • System Architecture & Scaling: Partner with infrastructure architects on performance tuning, horizontal/vertical scaling models, advanced caching strategies, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) capacity planning. • Observability & Triage: Construct operational monitoring dashboards and alerting configurations to track application health metrics, proactively addressing incidents to minimize Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR). Required Qualifications & Experience • Professional Depth: A minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience across open-source enterprise stacks. • Testing Discipline: Proven experience implementing test-driven development (TDD) or comprehensive automated testing workflows in large-scale PHP ecosystems. • Scripting Capabilities: Verified track record of creating resilient, maintainable Python utilities deployed within a production environment. • Data Architecture: Strong relational database competency (MySQL/MariaDB) focused on query optimization, schema design, and indexing. • Enterprise Scale: Demonstrated understanding of distributed systems architecture, caching layers, and managing high-traffic web applications handling sensitive data. Preferred Skills • Prior experience working within a healthcare environment or an industry governed by strict regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2). • Familiarity with containerized delivery workflows (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native logging or monitoring tooling. • Experience implementing Automated Dependency Management platforms (e.g., Dependabot, Snyk, Sonatype Nexus).
