Lead Data Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a Lead Data Engineer who can lead a team of up to 7 and has expertise in Python, data migration and data modeling. Candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis and also a hybrid schedule - 3 days a week onsite in Los Angeles / 2 days remote. Responsibilities - • Lead data engineering execution in support of complex application (transactional financial system) development initiatives, ensuring data integrations, pipelines, and models align with established architectural standards • Work collaboratively with team of engineers to design, build, and execute data migrations between systems, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation to help ensure data accuracy and completeness across environments. Requirements - • Proficiency in Python with a history of delivering production pipelines. • Experience building production scripts or services used for data movement and validation. • Azure data stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Tabular Model / DAX, Microsoft Fabric) is preferred • SQL and NoSQL production experience • Expertise with SQL Server and MongoDB • Proficiency in modeling data, analyzing source and target schemas, writing complex queries, and resolving data quality issues during migration.
