Nature of Contract – Contract opportunity
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lotus Notes Developer for a critical decommissioning project. Your primary focus will be to analyze, extract, and document business logic and data from legacy Lotus Notes applications to facilitate a smooth migration to modern platforms. This is a hands-on technical role for an expert in the Lotus Notes environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform technical discovery and analysis of existing Lotus Notes applications (NSF files).
• Extract and document complex business logic, formulas, LotusScript, and agent code.
• Map and export application data into structured, modern formats (e.g., CSV, JSON, SQL).
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for each application to guide the migration team.
• Identify and resolve data integrity issues during the extraction process.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Proven Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on Lotus Notes application development.
• Technical Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of:
- LotusScript
- Formula Language
- Notes Formula @Functions
- Agents (Scheduled, Event-triggered)
- Views, Forms, and NSF architecture
• Data Extraction: Demonstrable experience extracting data from Notes databases for migration or reporting purposes.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to reverse-engineer and document application functionality from existing code.
Nice-to-Have (Not Mandatory):
• Experience with Lotus Notes decommissioning or migration tools (e.g., Quest, Dell Migration Manager).
• Basic knowledge of SQL or modern scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
