Role description
We’re Hiring: Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer Location: Sheffield/London (hybrid) Employment Type: Contract We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. This role involves working with large datasets, applying advanced analytics, and building predictive models to drive actionable business insights. Responsibilities: β€’ Preprocess structured and unstructured data for analysis β€’ Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information for analytic systems β€’ Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data β€’ Analyze large volumes of data to identify patterns and solutions β€’ Develop predictive systems and machine learning algorithms β€’ Present analytical results clearly to stakeholders β€’ Propose solutions and strategies for business challenges β€’ Perform data mining and extract usable insights from multiple data sources β€’ Use machine learning tools to select features, create, and optimize classifiers Qualifications: β€’ Programming Skills: Expertise in Python; Scala/Java knowledge is an advantage β€’ OpenTelemetry Expertise: Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry stack (VMs, middleware like IIS/Apache, hypervisors, databases, etc.) and OTLP formatting/structuring β€’ Ability to correlate streaming OLTP data from multiple components and generate actionable insights using ML models β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills β€’ Experience with feature selection, classifier creation, and optimization
