Role description
Expected compensation: 38.00 - 44.00 USD Per Hour HireArt is helping our client find skilled Mapping Specialists to support the creation and refinement of high-precision maps for autonomous vehicles. These maps are 100x more detailed than standard road maps and serve as foundational inputs to autonomous vehicle perception, planning, and localization systems. In this role, you’ll work with point clouds, satellite imagery, and other 3D spatial datasets using the company's in-house Map Toolset web app. You’ll perform detailed digitization of road environments, adhering to strict mapping specifications, and contribute directly to improving AV stack performance. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in HD map creation, GIS mapping, or spatial annotation for autonomy, robotics, or simulation, who are comfortable with technical workflows and iterative feedback cycles. As a Mapping Specialist, You Will β€’ Create, edit, and maintain high-definition road maps to support autonomous vehicle operations. β€’ Digitize road geometry and infrastructure from lidar point clouds, satellite imagery, and other geospatial inputs. β€’ Apply detailed mapping specifications to ensure high accuracy, completeness, and consistency of map data. β€’ Contribute to multiple revision cycles based on internal technical acceptance criteria (e.g., performance, robustness, system integration). β€’ Provide structured feedback to improve internal tooling, workflows, and mapping specifications. β€’ Collaborate with engineers and mapping teams using GitHub/Jira, Google Workspace, and Slack.
