Role description
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft O365 Engineer to join a crucial project for a top client of ours. This role will focus heavily on Microsoft Exchange administration, Office 365 tenant management, and email migration projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies, particularly around Exchange Online, and has proven experience in executing seamless email and data migrations across environments.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, plan, and implement Office 365 solutions with a strong emphasis on Exchange Online.
β’ Lead and execute Exchange migrations (on-prem to O365, tenant-to-tenant, hybrid environments).
β’ Provide ongoing support for O365 services including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve messaging and collaboration issues.
β’ Configure and manage security and compliance settings related to mail flow, data loss prevention, and retention policies.
β’ Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell and maintain scripts for administration.
β’ Monitor service health, usage analytics, and recommend performance improvements.
β’ Assist in O365 tenant configurations including identity and access management (Azure AD, MFA, SSO).
β’ Collaborate with security, network, and application teams on integrated solutions.
β’ Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and training materials.
Required Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Exchange (2013/2016/2019 and Exchange Online).
β’ 3+ years of hands-on experience with Office 365 migrations, preferably using tools like BitTitan, Quest, or native Microsoft tools.
β’ Expertise in PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
β’ Experience with hybrid Exchange environments and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
β’ Solid understanding of email routing, SMTP, DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
β’ Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Defender and compliance center tools.
β’ Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or equivalent.
β’ Experience with Intune, Azure Information Protection, or Microsoft Purview.
β’ Background in large-scale enterprise migrations or M&A tenant consolidations.
