Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Cloud) to join our team and enable solutions on Azure and other cloud platforms. This role involves creating processes and coordinating with internal customers and the engineering, operations, and architectural community. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive computer education with cloud infrastructure experience and a solid understanding of application design from a software perspective. A strong grasp of both is essential for success. You will design and implement processes for integrating applications into cloud environments, collaborate with stakeholders, and optimize cloud solutions using your full-stack knowledge. Applying best practices in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you will identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Effective communication with end users, executives, program managers, and engineers is crucial. The role will encompass both Cloud Runway Engineering and Cloud Capacity Engineering functions, where you will help define processes and actively participate in capacity planning and cloud onboarding analysis and design. -Your responsibilities include driving Cloud Runway tasks and conducting Cloud Engineering reviews. You will assist Platform and Product teams with proof of concepts and evaluations to solve challenges or improve processes. Additionally, you will work with Business Product teams to understand their designs as they move to the cloud or modify their applications, considering long-term infrastructure state drift. Collaboration with our cloud engineering, security, and compliance teams is essential to advise on the best design considerations. You will bring a wide range of cloud skills (CI/CD and IaC experience), acting as both a knowledgeable software engineer and expert in cloud.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
β’ Extensive experience with Azure and other cloud platforms.
β’ Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and application design.
β’ Proficiency in DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
β’ Experience in designing and implementing cloud integration processes.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with internal customers and various engineering, operations, and architectural teams.
β’ Strong knowledge of full-stack development.
β’ Expertise in identifying and mitigating security risks in cloud environments.
β’ Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards.
β’ Excellent communication skills for interacting with end users, executives, program managers, and engineers.
β’ Ability to conduct cloud engineering and design reviews and drive Cloud Runway tasks.
β’ Experience in assisting with proof of concepts and evaluations for platform and product teams.
β’ Ability to understand and adapt business product designs for cloud environments.
β’ Strong collaboration skills with cloud engineering, security, and compliance teams.
