Job Description: Senior OpenStack Engineer Location: Remote We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Senior OpenStack Engineers to support a strategic customer initiative involving OpenStack version 16 to 18 migration and deployment, with a strong emphasis on OpenStack-on-OpenShift capabilities. This is a contract-based, remote opportunity for professionals who can hit the ground running and contribute immediately to new installations and potential upgrade paths. You will be part of a high-impact team responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and production-ready OpenStack environments. The ideal candidates will have deep expertise in OpenStack architecture, deployment automation, and migration strategies across versions 16 to 18 Lead and execute OpenStack 18 installations in enterprise environments. Support OpenStack upgrades (from versions 16 and 17 to 18) where applicable, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Deploy and configure OpenStack-on-OpenShift components as part of version 18 rollouts. Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to define architecture, deployment strategies, and best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across compute, storage, and networking layers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers if needed. Document installation procedures, configurations, and operational guidelines. Ensure compliance with client s security and operational standards. Advance proficiency and hands-on experience OpenStack versions 16, 17, and 18. Experience in new deployments and upgrades for OpenStack 16, 17 and 18. Deep understanding of OpenStack core components: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Horizon, TripleO, etc. Experience with OpenStack-on-OpenShift (TripleO, Helm charts, Kubernetes integration). Strong Linux administration skills (preferably RHEL/CentOS). Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible, Python, Shell Script, Heat. Familiarity with Ceph storage, SDN, and container orchestration. Ability to work independently and hit the ground running in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Required Certification/Qualifications: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenStack Administration or equivalent. Experience working with telecom clients or large-scale enterprise OpenStack deployments. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in cloud environments CI/CD Pipelines Experience integrating OpenStack deployments into automated pipelines. Customer-Facing Experience Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders. Monitoring & Logging Tools Knowledge of tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
