Our client, a leading global provider of technology enabled claims and risk management solutions, is immediately seeking a skilled Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Oracle server-side programming, including PL/SQL, SQL, and related technologies. This role requires a strong background in data analysis, performance tuning, and automation, with hands-on experience in working with complex database components and optimizing query performance to support mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain PL/SQL code including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
β’ Perform complex data analysis, modeling, and documentation tasks.
β’ Develop and maintain scheduled jobs using UNIX Shell scripts and Oracle Schedulers to automate batch processes.
β’ Create and optimize Materialized Views, Indexes, and Dynamic SQL for performance improvement.
β’ Implement and troubleshoot XML generation within PL/SQL components.
β’ Conduct SQL tuning and performance optimization using tools such as Oracle Explain Plan.
β’ Write and maintain PL/SQL Web Services, Stored Procedures, and work with Oracle AQ.
β’ Use object-oriented PL/SQL programming including user-defined types, cursors, records, and collections (arrays/queues).
β’ Handle error and exception management with robust debugging and logging practices.
β’ Import and process high volumes of data using external tables and other Oracle features.
β’ Collaborate with business analysts and end users to define functional and technical requirements.
β’ Document all development efforts and provide support for production issues.
β’ Support the development of applications across various platforms, including Windows client/server environments.
β’ Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical mentoring and growth of the team.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
β’ 8+ years of experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
β’ Extensive experience with Oracle server-side programming, including SQL, SQL
β’ Plus, PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Cursors, Triggers, Views, Materialized Views, Temporary Tables, Object-Oriented PL/SQL, Job Scheduling, PL/SQL Web Services, Java Stored Procedures, and Oracle AQ.
β’ Experience with UNIX Shell scripting for database automation
β’ Proficiency with Dynamic SQL, Exception handling, and debugging
β’ Expertise in SQL performance tuning and optimization
β’ Strong skills in data analysis, modeling, development, testing, and documentation.
β’ Experience automating tasks using UNIX Shell scripts.
β’ Expertise in writing cursors, user-defined object types, records, and tables for PL/SQL programming.
β’ Extensive experience with exception handling and debugging PL/SQL code.
β’ Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and the use of Oracle Explain Plan.
β’ Strong skills in the creation of materialized views, indexes, and dynamic SQL statements for better performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Degree specialization in Information Systems or Computer Science.
β’ Experience with additional platforms such as .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, or Progress 4GL.
β’ Familiarity with insurance domain applications and regulatory reporting is a plus.
β’ Experience in mentoring junior developers and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
