Role description
Palantir Foundry Data Engineer (Contract, Remote) About Us We design and deliver advanced data solutions for independent schools, leveraging Palantir Foundry to integrate and analyze complex datasets from multiple internal and external systems. Our work turns raw data into actionable insights, helping schools make smarter decisions about admissions, financial aid, development, and operations. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Palantir Foundry Data Engineer (Delta) with strong Python skills and a track record of delivering production-grade solutions inside Foundry. You will own the ingestion, integration, cleaning, and modeling of data in Foundry Code Repositories, and collaborate on ontology design and application-layer workflows using AIP and Workshop apps. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines in Foundry Code Repositories, integrating multiple data sources (REST APIs, flat files, databases). • Write clean, reusable Python code for ETL, data normalization, and transformation. • Design and build ontologies that accurately model business entities and relationships for downstream analytics and applications. • Implement data quality checks and handle schema drift in multi-tenant environments. • Build and maintain custom workflows in AIP and Workshop apps to enable non-technical end users to interact with curated datasets and insights. • Collaborate on multi-tenant templating strategies for onboarding new clients efficiently. • Follow best practices for security, data governance, and least-privilege access in regulated environments (FERPA or similar). • Document and demo deliverables for internal and client teams. Required Qualifications • hands-on Palantir Foundry experience, including Code Repositories, Ontology design, and data pipeline development. • Strong Python skills for ETL, integration, and transformation. • Proven experience integrating data from multiple systems via REST APIs and OAuth 2.0. • Experience with data cleaning, normalization, and schema mapping in Foundry. • Ability to design clear, maintainable ontologies that power analytics and operational apps. • Comfortable with version control, branching, and Foundry’s promotion workflow. Preferred Qualifications • Experience building custom AIP workflows and Workshop applications in Foundry. • Familiarity with independent school systems (e.g., Veracross, Blackbaud). • Experience with data governance and compliance in education or similar regulated sectors. • Experience templating Foundry solutions for multi-client deployment. Engagement Details • Contract: 10–15 hrs/week, 8–12 weeks with the potential for extension, expanded hours, and possible full-time work following week 12. • Remote (US time zones preferred, but flexible for the right candidate). • Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. • Short paid technical test required for finalists. How to Apply Please include: 1. A brief description of your Foundry experience (ontologies, pipelines, AIP, Workshop). 1. An example (or redacted summary) of a Foundry project you’ve delivered. 1. Your hourly rate and earliest start date.
