My client is a leading Energy Trading company who focus their efforts on power, gas, liquified natural gas and green certificates, connecting energy producers, suppliers and off-takers in wholesale energy markets.
What You'll Do
They are seeking a Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards and data models to support traders and stakeholders in making real-time, data-informed decisions. You'll help drive business outcomes by transforming complex data into clear, actionable intelligence.
Key responsibilities will include:
β’ Dashboard & Report Development - build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business stakeholdersβ needs.
β’ Data Modeling & ETL - architect and optimise data models using Star schema, DAX, and Power Query; design ETL pipelines incorporating SQL, Azure Databricks, and streaming data sources.
β’ Collaborate with Stakeholders - work with traders, analysts, and IT teams to translate business requirements into BI solutions.
β’ Performance & Security Optimization - fine-tune performance via query tuning, data compression, and implement role-level security (RLS) to safeguard sensitive data.
β’ Automation & DevOps Integration - support CI/CD processes to automate dashboard deployment; leverage tools such as Power Automate, Terraform, or GitHub Actions as needed.
β’ Documentation & Training - create clear documentation and deliver training to support Power BI adoption across the business.
What You'll Need
β’ Power BI Expertise - strong experience with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query for advanced calculations and transformations.
β’ Database & ETL Proficiency - solid skills in SQL and understanding of data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Python, or data engineering tools is a strong advantage.
β’ Analytical & Stakeholder Focus - excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset to translate insights into stakeholder value.
β’ Agile & Collaborative Approach - experience working in agile environments and with DevOps practices, ensuring rapid, iterative delivery of BI assets.
β’ Domain Knowledge - within a financial markets or energy trading technology environment.
