We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners. Must work on our W2 Job Title: Power BI Developer Location: Remote Duration: 3+ Months Contract Description: The services You will provide the client project team: As a Cloud Developer Contractor, you will support the project team by building, testing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions to meet business requirements. Develop and implement cloud-based applications and services, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements. Integrate new cloud solutions with existing systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. Optimize cloud applications for performance, scalability, and security. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud applications and infrastructure. Primary Skill Required for the Role: Microsoft - Power BI Level Required for Primary Skill: Advanced (6-9 years experience) Additional Details for Role: Power BI Developer Key Responsibilities β€’ Report Migration o Lead the conversion and migration of Cognos ReportNet/BI reports into Power BI, ensuring performance, accuracy, and usability improvements. o Redesign legacy reports into modern, interactive dashboards aligned with stakeholder requirements. β€’ Data Modeling & Architecture o Design and maintain Power BI semantic models optimized with star schema (fact/dimension) structures. o Evaluate when to apply snowflake schema for normalized dimensions and performance tuning. o Ensure models are scalable, high-performing, and aligned with BI governance standards. β€’ Power BI Development o Build and manage datasets and dataflows (Gen2) within Power BI/Fabric, enabling incremental refresh and large-scale data ingestion. o Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated groups, and calculation items (via Tabular Editor) to support reusable time intelligence and reduce redundancy. o Create dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations that are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with clinical/business needs. β€’ Stakeholder Collaboration o Partner with healthcare users to gather requirements and define key clinical and operational KPIs. o Produce wireframes/mockups to validate dashboard design before development. o Translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical audiences. β€’ Data Integration & Governance o Support integration of data from Epic (EHR), EMR, claims systems, and ERP platforms. o Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure proper ETL, pipelines, and governance. o Monitor and optimize scheduled refreshes and data pipelines.
