Power BI Developer

About the Company Motion recruitmet has partnered with a clinet and seeking a Power BI / SQL Developer candidates in the North TX area (Lewisville, Denton and surrounding areas) for a long-term contract opportunity on a hybrid basis About the Role Location: Denton, TX. 3 days onsite and 2 days remote Duration: 6+ Month Contract to hire. Type: W-2 Contract Only – C2C, third-party, or sponsorship arrangements are not supported at this time. Local candidates are given preferance as it requires a FTF interview. Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical. The Selected candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and will be responsible for understanding and analyzing the existing data structure and tables. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to gather and understand business requirements. Candidates must have experience working in agile/scrum environments. Required Skills • Advanced Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service expertise • Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) • Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and Power Query (M language) • Building interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations • Integration with SQL Server 2017 & above, SharePoint, Excel & other data sources • Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace management • Performance optimization of Power BI reports • Familiarity with Power BI REST API and embedding reports • Designing & optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views • Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL, or other RDBMS platforms • Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and indexing Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience within this field.
