Position Summary:
The New Mexico Department of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer to support its Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) modernization efforts. This role will be critical in designing and implementing scalable, user-friendly solutions using Microsoft Power Platform to improve project tracking, reporting, and collaboration across state agencies. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a consultative mindset, and a passion for public sector innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the design and development of custom applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) to support EPMO workflows and reporting needs.
β’ Automate project management processes using Power Automate, including approvals, notifications, and data integrations.
β’ Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into project performance, resource utilization, and strategic metrics.
β’ Collaborate with EPMO leadership and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with modernization goals.
β’ Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Azure, and other state systems.
β’ Establish and maintain documentation standards for all Power Platform solutions to ensure transparency, maintainability, and compliance.
β’ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and agency staff.
β’ Support change management and user adoption efforts through training, demos, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in application development, with at least 3 years focused on Microsoft Power Platform.
β’ Proven experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
β’ Strong understanding of project management principles and experience supporting PMO or EPMO functions.
β’ Experience integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365, Azure, and legacy systems.
β’ Proficiency in JavaScript, JSON, SQL, and PowerShell.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in public sector environments.
β’ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience working with state or local government agencies.
β’ Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall project methodologies.
β’ Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, or PL-900.
β’ Knowledge of AI Builder, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot Studio.
