PowerBuilder Developer This is a contract position for a person with strong Power Builder Development skills. My client is working on an implementation of a new ERP system, and they need someone to work on production support and minor enhancements for some of their existing systems which were developed using Power Builder. The person would need to be local to Cartrette NJ as they would need to be able to be in the office 2 or 3 days a week and could work remotely a couple of days per week. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Programmer to support and enhance our manufacturing business systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and maintaining PowerBuilder applications, particularly those that integrate with manufacturing operations, ERP systems, and inventory control. You will play a key role in supporting our production environment and helping us modernize legacy systems to meet evolving business needs. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, maintain, and enhance PowerBuilder applications that support manufacturing, inventory, and supply chain operations • Collaborate with plant and warehouse personnel to gather requirements and implement system improvements • Design and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and reliability • Support ERP integration with custom PowerBuilder modules and other third-party systems • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production systems, ensuring minimal downtime • Document code, processes, and system configurations to support ongoing maintenance and upgrades • Assist with system modernization efforts, including data migration and integration with new platforms • Ensure compliance with manufacturing regulations and internal IT policies Qualifications: Required: • 5+ years of hands-on experience with PowerBuilder (preferably in a manufacturing setting) • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase) • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as BOM management, inventory control, production scheduling, and shop floor operations • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting legacy applications in a production environment • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, QA) Preferred: • Experience integrating PowerBuilder with ERP systems • Familiarity with barcoding, shipping systems, or warehouse management software • Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
