Our client is seeking a Senior Principal Data Scientist to join their team and drive strategic initiatives through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of uncovering business opportunities from large datasets and presenting actionable recommendations to senior leadership. This role requires a blend of advanced analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities that align with organizational goals.
β’ Develop and apply advanced analytical methods, such as predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and data mining, to uncover actionable insights.
β’ Translate data insights into strategic recommendations, focusing on opportunities for growth, efficiency, or impact.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data-driven initiatives with business or policy objectives.
β’ Present findings and recommendations to high-level executives, ensuring clarity and relevance for non-technical audiences.
β’ Stay current on industry trends and best practices in data science, particularly in public policy, venture capital, or Fortune 500 contexts.
Qualifications
β’ Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
β’ 10+ years of experience in a data science role, with a focus on deriving insights from large datasets.
β’ Proven experience identifying strategic value drivers through data analysis, ideally in public policy.
β’ Strong proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
β’ Exceptional business acumen with the ability to align data insights with strategic goals.
β’ Outstanding communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives from diverse, non-technical backgrounds.
β’ Ability to work independently and manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
β’ Background in public policy analysis, with experience working on government or regulatory datasets.
β’ Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to present insights effectively.
β’ Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Location: Remote but California based highly preferred.
