Role description
Position: R Developer Employment Type: Contract, Full time Start: ASAP Location: Stevenage – Hybrid 2 days a week Languages: English Role – We are seeking an experienced R Expert to design, manage, and optimize R package environments that support advanced analytics and development workflows. You will play a critical role in ensuring a reliable, scalable, and well-documented R ecosystem for our teams, leveraging modern tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure DevOps. Key skills: • 8+ years of R Shiny Development experience. • Strong expertise in R package management and R package installation. • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. • Knowledge of SAS. • Hands-on experience with Domino. • Familiarity with Azure DevOps. • Working knowledge of Python. • Experience with GitHub and Databricks. • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Consulting background is a plus. • Strong communication skills (oral & written) • Rights to work in the UK is must (No Sponsorship available) Responsibilities: • Establish and maintain central repositories for R packages. • Collaborate with development teams to enable package development, deployment, and best practices. • Configure and manage package sources, including mirrors and custom repositories. • Ensure package availability, accessibility, and compliance with organizational standards. • Build, publish, and document internal R packages. • Resolve and manage package dependencies to maintain a consistent and reliable analytical environment. • Oversee installation of R and frozen R packages. • Create scalable R compute environments using Docker.
