Role description
Location: REMOTE
Hours: EST Time zone
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and maintain the reporting infrastructure and architecture to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
· Develop scalable, maintainable data models to support Power BI and automated reports.
· Align reporting strategy with operational and customer needs.
· Ensure SQL queries (PostgreSQL) for reporting and analytics are performant and maintainable.
· Leverage materialized views, functions, and foreign data wrappers to optimize performance.
· Design, build, and maintain operational and customer-facing Power BI dashboards.
· Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all reporting assets.
· Respond to ad hoc reporting needs and automate recurring reporting tasks.
· Act as the primary contact for report-related requests from internal stakeholders.
· Manage and prioritize a backlog of reporting enhancements and bug fixes.
· Maintain internal documentation and knowledge base for reports used by non-technical users.
· Assist with documenting data pipelines, query logic, report definitions, and business rules.
· Ensure access control, versioning, and change tracking for critical reporting assets.
· Monitor execution and distribution of scheduled reports across time zones.
· Implement alerting for failures and execution issues.
· Support incident management and triage impacts related to reporting disruptions.
· Conduct root cause and impact analysis for data/reporting issues.
· Continuously identify areas of improvement in data reliability, delivery speed, visualization, and tooling.
· Propose and implement technical and procedural enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred; business degree with strong technical experience also considered.
· 5+ years of combined experience in BI development, data analytics, reporting, or data engineering.
· Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred), including query optimization, functions, and views.
· Advanced Power BI skills, including developing and managing Power BI datasets.
· Experience building and maintaining Power Automate workflows, including API integration and multi-connector orchestration.
· Familiarity with secure practices and configuration in Power Platform.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Delta tables, and medallion architecture concepts.
· Understanding of secure practices and configurations in the Power Platform and Azure environments.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to document and explain technical systems to non-technical audiences.
· Experience working in a supply chain logistics and/or yard management operations SaaS product environment.
· Exposure to DevOps practices and Azure cloud services.
· Exposure to Azure Data Factory, dbt, and data lakehouse environments.
· Familiarity with Power Platform governance and licensing.
