A Senior Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing and delivering comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset combined with business acumen to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. The analyst will oversee end-to-end data reporting services including data preparation, analysis, modeling, and visualization for strategic initiatives such as Fire Recovery, Quality of Life, and other ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will also manage Power BI platform administration and actively contribute to the development and deployment of robust reporting solutions that support key business functions. Key Responsibilities: • Design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards and detailed reports to support data-driven initiatives and performance monitoring. • Conduct data preparation, analysis, and modeling using advanced techniques to support various programs and policy decisions. • Administer the Power BI platform, including dataset management, gateway configuration, capacity planning, and performance tuning. • Support spatial storytelling and geographic data integration using ArcGIS StoryMaps and ArcGIS API for Python. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions. • Apply foundational statistical techniques such as regression, correlation, and outlier detection for data validation and insights. • Ensure high data quality and consistency through effective data cleaning, transformation, and formatting, particularly using Databricks, Snowflake, and Genie. • Guide and mentor junior analysts, fostering knowledge sharing and technical development within the team. Qualifications & Skills: • 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, and visualization, including implementation of BI tools and GIS storytelling platforms. • 3+ years of hands-on experience using Power BI for creating data models, interactive dashboards, and comprehensive reports. • 1+ year of experience administering Power BI Service, including gateway and capacity management. • Experience with ArcGIS StoryMaps and ArcGIS API for Python to create spatial narratives and visualizations. • Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, and Genie, with proven skills in data preprocessing, missing value handling, and data normalization. • 1+ years of experience in Python and SQL development, utilizing data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. • Strong understanding of database structures, data relationships, and query optimization. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer service mindset and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work independently or collaboratively as needed. • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality, accurate work. Education & Certification: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Professional Certificate is required.
