Job Title: Senior Reporting Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid (Toronto, ON)

We are hiring a Senior Reporting Data Analyst to support enterprise reporting modernization across the Wealth Management / Capital Markets divisions for one of our banking clients. This role focuses on analyzing, deconstructing, and translating legacy reporting tools into scalable, enterprise-grade reporting solutions.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of financial products, book-of-record systems, and reporting architecture, along with strong business analysis skills and a technical mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Reverse engineer legacy reports built in Excel, Access, VBA, and SQL to extract embedded business logic.
β’ Interpret stored procedures, Excel macros, and other code artifacts to define current-state data flows and processes.
β’ Document current and future state process diagrams, report specifications, and file layouts.
β’ Develop comprehensive functional requirements, user stories, and data mapping documents for new or redesigned reports.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders from business, operations, and technology to align on reporting goals and deliverables.
β’ Act as a liaison between business users and development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and expected outputs.
β’ Ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance in all reporting solutions.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 10+ years of experience in Reporting/Data Analysis or Business Analysis within the banking or financial services industry.
β’ Strong domain expertise in Wealth Management and/or Brokerage, with knowledge of:
β’ Financial instruments: Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, etc.
β’ Account types: RRSP, Margin, TFSA, Cash Accounts
β’ Experience with Broadridge or similar book-of-record systems, particularly around positions, transactions, and commissions.
β’ Proficient in:
β’ SQL and interpreting stored procedures
β’ Excel VBA/macros
β’ Writing clear and structured documentation (BRDs, FRDs, report layouts, data mappings, etc.)
β’ Ability to operate at both high-level strategic and detailed technical levels.
β’ Strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills.
