Role description
Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Austin, TX that is seeking a Reporting Developer. Responsibilities:
β’ Design, implement, and maintain Java-based services for financial calculations (projections, tax models, scenario analysis)
β’ Build backend components powering client-facing features like reporting tools
β’ Deliver clean, testable, and high-performance code
β’ Collaborate with UI and API teams to ensure consistent data delivery
β’ Convert complex financial logic and regulations into scalable software models
β’ Partner with analysts to clarify rules, validate outcomes, and resolve edge cases
β’ Investigate and fix issues in calculations and reporting outputs
β’ Apply curiosity and financial interest to improve modeling approaches
β’ Write unit tests, document logic flows, and participate in code reviews
β’ Provide QA handoffs with test plans and validation steps
β’ Enhance stability, performance, and security across RESTful services and integrations
β’ Address issues by collaborating with user groups and support teams
β’ Communicate technical progress and trade-offs clearly
β’ Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities per best practices
β’ Work closely with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver production-ready solutions
β’ Engage in agile ceremonies, architecture reviews, and design discussions
β’ Foster a culture of learning through feedback and collaboration
Requirements
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field
β’ 2-4 years of Java development experience (internships/projects count)
β’ Strong problem-solving and system reasoning skills
β’ Interest in finance (professional, academic, or personal)
β’ Experience with financial logic or domain modeling (preferred)
β’ Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, MySQL; Exposure to Git and agile
β’ Comfortable implementing precise business rules
β’ Must love dogs - they're in the office daily!
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
