Under the supervision and guidance of department leadership and/or experienced analysts, the Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst I collaborates with vendors, system owners, partners, contractors, and internal leadership to design, develop, implement, and support revenue cycle information systems. These systems may include patient billing, accounting, financials, and healthcare management platforms. Responsibilities include identifying and documenting IT design specifications based on assessments of user needs and generating need-gap analyses. The analyst evaluates existing or proposed systems and develops or modifies procedures to address business and operational challenges through data processing solutions.
Additionally, this role acts as an application administrator by ensuring data integrity, managing system security, extracting and analyzing data, facilitating user/vendor communication, and overseeing software upgrades, implementations, and/or conversions. The analyst is expected to understand functional workflows and processes within supported departments and maintain system functionality to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity.
The Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst I also engages in direct customer support and participates in project-related activities. The role includes designing, creating, and maintaining simple to intermediate-level reports using technologies such as reporting platforms, query languages, and analytics tools.
Minimum Education:
β’ Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum Experience:
β’ At least 2 years of relevant business or IT support experience.
β’ Familiarity with revenue cycle systems (e.g., patient scheduling, registration, coding, abstracting, accounting, and billing).
β’ Experience in healthcare, preferably in ambulatory or acute care settings.
β’ Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

β’ Customer Service: Responds to user inquiries and support tickets professionally and efficiently. Maintains a user-focused approach while addressing technical issues and enhancement requests.
β’ Technical Skills & Industry Knowledge: Supports both project and operational system activities. Understands application architecture and industry practices. Stays up to date with evolving technologies and industry standards (e.g., ITIL).
β’ Teamwork & Project Management: Contributes to project planning, task tracking, and cross-functional collaboration. Effectively manages personal workload and project tasks.
β’ Reports & Analytics: Creates both standard and customized reports. Assists in the development of ad hoc reports as needed.
β’ Solution Design & Development: Analyzes documentation and business needs to design system solutions. Recommends and develops strategies to resolve system or process issues.
β’ Performance Improvement & Innovation: Actively supports performance improvement efforts and process transformation initiatives. Leverages innovation to optimize workflows and system use.
β’ Training: Assists in training team members and end users on new or existing systems and applications. Coordinates with vendors and internal users during new system implementations.
β’ Other Duties & On-Call: Fulfills on-call responsibilities and performs other duties as assigned.
