Role description
An aerospace client is looking for a RF Microwave Design Engineer with Active Secret Clearance who will operate the system and test equipment to evaluate functional and RF performance against requirements.
Location: Camarillo, CA 93012 (On site)
Position: RF Microwave Design Engineer with Active Secret Clearance
Pay Rate: $35/hr - $43.54/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 1st Shift (9/80A)
Responsibilities:
• RF systems development
• Performance analysis
• Data analysis
• Support of firmware, software and hardware integration and test
• Follow supplied USMC operational scenarios, requirements, and architecture framework (DoDAF) for system development.
• Assist the senior systems engineer with the generation and documentation of a new system’s architecture and design (power, RF, and functional block diagrams).
• Review system thermal, safety, and reliability analyses.
• Assist the senior system engineers with new system design features to enhance USMC supportability and maintainability of the system.
• Research and make recommendations on COTS components for system development based on system performance requirements, size, weight, and power constraints, etc.
• Support system prototyping at the bench level, in order to technically evaluate potential COTS components for possible use in new systems and to then evaluate subsequent system design performance.
• Run and develop subsystem Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
• Support the review of electro-mechanical system drawings.
• Assist with the troubleshooting system failures and performance issues.
• Support the use of key processes, such as the configuration management for system changes after the system baseline is established.
• Support test’s evaluation of system performance in the lab.
• Operate the system and test equipment to evaluate functional and RF performance against requirements.
• Review system design documentation and operational checklists, procedures, user manuals, training materials, and other technical publications for technical accuracy and completeness.
Basic Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar with 2 years of related experience or 0 years related experience with a master’s degree
• Experience with MATLAB or equivalent software tools
• Experience with RF components and systems
• We are looking for you to join our team as an Engineer RF Microwave Design based out of Pt Mugu, CA
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with HFSS software for PCB design
• Experience with Keysight Advanced Design System Software
• Experience with digital signal processing
• Previous experience with Radar waveforms, Electronic Support (ES), and/or Electronic Attack (EA)
• Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles
• Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology
• Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
• Experience with Ethernet and TCP/IP
• Experience with component selection for system development
• Experience using mechanical and electrical drawings
• Experience with RF receiver and RF jamming, software defined radios, and encryption systems
• Experience working with RF test equipment
• Experience with concurrent hardware and software development
• Experience with military aircraft avionics and/or stores
• Familiarity with referenced military standards
• Familiarity with aircraft safety, supportability, maintainability, and reliability disciplines
• Experience with AutoCAD electrical
