SAP Business Objects Administrator - Job Description: We are seeking a skilled SAP Business Objects (BO) Developer/Administrator to design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. This role combines hands-on report/dashboard development with the administration of the SAP BO environment to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability. SAP Business Objects Administrator - Responsibilities:
Design and develop reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using SAP BO tools such as Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Lumira.
Gather and document business reporting and analytics requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
Translate business needs into technical specifications and BI solutions.
Design and maintain Universes for efficient query generation and performance optimization.
Implement joins, contexts, and derived tables for accurate and consistent data modeling.
Conduct thorough testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure accuracy and performance.
Optimize reports and queries for performance and scalability.
Create and maintain documentation, including report specifications, data models, and user guides.
Install, configure, and upgrade SAP BO components, including BI Platform, Web Intelligence, and Crystal Reports.
Manage BO servers, clusters, and environments (Development, QA, and Production).
Set up and maintain user authentication and authorization through LDAP, Active Directory, or SAP SSO.
Monitor and maintain environment health and performance.
Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions.
Configure and optimize scheduling, distribution, and delivery of reports.
Ensure backup, recovery, and failover processes are implemented and tested.
Apply patches, updates, and service packs to maintain system security and stability.
Provide technical support for SAP BO issues, incidents, and connectivity problems.
Collaborate with SAP support to resolve product-related bugs.
Work closely with database administrators, data engineers, and other IT teams for smooth data integration.
Assist in migrating reports, universes, and other BO objects between environments.
Provide training and guidance to end-users and power users on SAP BO tools and best practices.
SAP Business Objects Administrator - Mandatory Skills:
Proven experience in SAP BO report and dashboard development.
Strong skills in Universe design, data modeling, and query optimization.
Experience administering SAP BO environments, including installation, upgrades, and patching.
Proficiency with authentication methods such as LDAP, AD, and SAP SSO.
Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
SAP Business Objects Administrator β Nice-to-Have Skills:
SAP Business Objects certification.
Experience with performance tuning in large-scale BI environments.
