Sr Data Analyst
Hybrid Remote - 1x per week in Boston MA (Wednesdays)
Project will be extended on 6 month increments- could last up to 3 years

Position Summary:
The Senior Data Analyst will be a key member of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) team, leveraging deep expertise in SQL, Tableau, and inpatient clinical data to transform complex healthcare datasets into actionable insights. This role supports enterprise-wide initiatives that impact quality, operations, and patient care, with access to an extraordinary range of healthcare data, including EMR, claims, pharmacy, scheduling, and more.
The ideal candidate will be both technically strong and professionally mature, with a demonstrated ability to manage confidential and privileged information discreetly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write complex SQL queries from scratch, review and optimize existing SQL code, and transform scripts to support evolving business needs.
• Design, build, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards to effectively communicate complex data to diverse stakeholders.
• Analyze inpatient data including admissions, discharges, transfers, encounters, consults, and provider team structures (e.g., attendings, APPs, RNs).
• Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical operations data, contributing to analyses that drive improvements in patient care and operational performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support strategic initiatives using data-driven insights.
• Handle sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and adherence to legal/privacy guidelines (including attorney-client privilege).
• Develop and maintain trusted data sources (“sources of truth”) to ensure consistency and accuracy across analytics products.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant experience in healthcare analytics, clinical operations, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL – capable of coding from scratch, reading complex code, and refactoring existing scripts.
• Proven expertise in Tableau – able to build clear, insightful dashboards that simplify complex datasets.
• Strong understanding of inpatient care workflows – including patient movement (ADT), clinical encounters, and team composition.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams.
• High degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling confidential or privileged information.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with healthcare data types including EMR (Epic), claims, pharmacy, scheduling, billing, referrals, and lab results.
• Familiarity with Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Prior work in a healthcare or hospital system setting.
