Senior Data Engineer - 100% Remote - Contract

Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer for a Contract position, and this is a 100% Remote role. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in Data Engineering, Azure, Snowflake, Python, and FastAPI. Rate Range: $65 - $75 per hour. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Overview We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data solutions leveraging modern cloud and lakehouse technologies. The role involves building secure, high-performance pipelines and enabling analytics across the organization. Responsibilities • Build and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage. • Work with Azure Blob Storage, Parquet files, Snowflake, and Iceberg tables to deliver scalable solutions. • Develop APIs with FastAPI and integrate with downstream systems. • Enable analytics and self-service reporting using Sigma Computing. • Use PyIceberg/Polaris for data lakehouse integration. • Manage deployments with Docker, Azure pipelines, and development tools (VS Code/Cursor). • Implement Azure Gen 2 ADFS for security and access control. Skills & Experience • Proficiency in Python for data engineering. • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, and Parquet. • Knowledge of Iceberg tables and lakehouse frameworks. • Experience with FastAPI development. • Familiarity with Docker, Azure pipelines, and ADFS. • Strong problem-solving and optimization skills.
