Role: Senior Data ETL Engineer Duration: 12+ months Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite from day 1) Position : W2 Position POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for a Senior Data ETL Engineer to own end-to-end design and operation of large-scale healthcare data pipelines on the AWS ecosystem. The role demands deep expertise in healthcare claims ingestion, multi-format data processing, and HIPAA-compliant architecture capable of handling tens to hundreds of millions of claims records. CORE TECHNOLOGY STACK AWS Glue Apache Iceberg Amazon Redshift Amazon Athena Amazon SageMaker Amazon DynamoDB PostgreSQL SQL Proficiency Amazon Kinesis AWS Lake Formation Apache Airflow (MWAA) dbt Python / PySpark AWS Step Functions 837 EDI / HIPAA Claims Ingestion & Processing Parse & validate ANSI X12 837P, 837I, 837D EDI transactions at scale (multi-million+ claims) Ingest multi-format sources: EDI, CSV, JSON, HL7 FHIR R4, XML, and API feeds Handle full claims lifecycle: submission, adjudication, 835 remittance, 270/271 eligibility, 276/277 status Validate ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, NPI, revenue codes, and HIPAA 5010 compliance rules Education & Experience Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field 9+ years in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or data warehousing 5+ years in a healthcare data environment (payer, provider, clearinghouse, or HIT vendor) Proven experience processing multi-million+ claims records in production at scale Healthcare Domain Knowledge 837 EDI (P/I/D): loop structures, segment parsing, companion guide interpretation Full claims lifecycle: 835 ERA, 270/271 eligibility, 276/277 status transactions Medical coding: ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II, DRG, NDC, revenue codes, HIPAA 5010 transaction standards, CMS-1500, UB-04; HL7 FHIR R4 / HL7 v2.x
