Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive expertise in managing diverse database platforms in the healthcare domain. The role involves overseeing administration, performance tuning, security, and data migration across Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and mainframe databases, ensuring high availability, compliance, and optimal performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdministration & Maintenance
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and mainframe databases (e.g., DB2).
Monitor database health, capacity, and performance; perform tuning and optimization.
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Security & Compliance
Manage database security, user roles, and access controls.
Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).
Implement encryption standards for data at rest and in transit.
Development & Support
Collaborate with application teams for database development needs, including stored procedures, triggers, and indexing.
Troubleshoot complex performance and operational issues.
Automate administrative processes using PowerShell, Shell, or Python scripting.
Data Migration & Integration
Support ETL processes and integration across heterogeneous database environments.
Lead or assist in database migrations (on-premises to cloud or cross-platform).
Mainframe DB Support
Administer mainframe database systems such as IBM DB2.
Coordinate with mainframe teams for batch processing, job scheduling, and performance tuning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 12–15+ years as a DBA managing multiple database platforms.
Core Expertise:
Microsoft SQL Server (2016+)
Oracle (12c/19c)
MongoDB (sharded/replicated setups)
Mainframe DBMS (IBM DB2)
Strong SQL and database scripting skills.
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies (e.g., AlwaysOn, Data Guard, replica sets).
Familiarity with database monitoring and alerting tools.
Knowledge of Azure or other cloud platforms is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
