Role description
DB2 Database Administrator Required Location: Hybrid/Wilmington, DE or Jersey City NJ City 3 days a week (need locals) β€’ β€’ β€’ We need: Two senior DB2 Database Administrators with RECENT DB2 experience. We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM IMS (Information Management System) database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability, integrity, and performance of IMS databases, support application development teams, and implement database solutions that align with business and technical requirements. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 10+ years of experience as a DB2 DBA, preferably with both DB2 LUW and/or DB2 for z/OS. Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and database utilities. Hands-on experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., IBM Data Studio, Quest Toad, BMC, or other). Strong understanding of database backup/recovery, replication, and high availability strategies. Experience with data migration, upgrades, and patch management. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud) is a plus. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications: IBM Certified Database Administrator for DB2. Experience with mainframe systems (z/OS). Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
