Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract, full-time - 35 hours per week (we also encourage applications from those looking for flexible and part-time working. We would looke to accept applications for working a minimum of 0.8 FTE if part time hours)
Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting for a Senior Impact Data Analyst, to join the Evidence & Insights team and report to the Senior Impact Analytics Lead. If you believe in the power of data to bring about transformative change in the lives of farmers, workers and their communities and to overcome unsustainable and unjust practices still existing in Global Value Chains – then this is the role for you!
In this role, you will support the commercial and teams to generate analysis and translation of Fairtrade impact-data. Your work will then enable communication of Fairtrade impact to the public, deliver higher level of transparency to our commercial partners and support meaningful and data-driven engagement with our key stakeholders to build global commitment for further action in support of Fairtrade farmers and the workers.
We are looking for someone who has advanced skills and significant experience in data management and analysis and insights generation. With the experience of and ability to conceptualise and design solutions such as visualisation dashboards and infographics, you will be able to translate and communicate complex information to diverse groups of stakeholders & audiences.
In addition to your technical skillset, relationship management, teamwork and the ability to relate to internal / external senior stakeholders are paramount, as is a can-do, solutions focused and entrepreneurial attitude. We are looking also for someone who enjoys and is keen to engage directly with commercial partners to present and enable understanding of the outcomes of your work.

Role Purpose
The Evidence and Insights team is a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing & implementing a cohesive approach to evidence and insights services for the Fairtrade Foundation. Working across MEL, research and impact analytics the team will deliver business critical and bespoke research and data services for our partners to demonstrate the impact of Fairtrade’s work and support the Directorate to deliver full-value partnerships.
The Impact Analytics unit within Evidence and Insights is responsible for the development and provision of Impact Analytics services working closely across the partnerships teams as well as providing expertise directly to external partners and insights and learning internally.
The ‘Senior Impact Data Analyst’ role at the Foundation reports directly to the Senior Impact Analytics Lead. In this role, you will lead on managing, analysing and translating Fairtrade impact data at different levels of aggregation – such as overarching impact of Fairtrade, commodity-specific and/or on specific supply chains. This information is originated from Fairtrade routine data collection, internal/external evaluation & research and allows us to monitor, understand and assess the impact of our sourcing model on key economic, social and sustainability outcomes for the Fairtrade producers, workers and their communities. You will support the Partnerships teams to generate analysis and translation of Fairtrade impact-data. Your work will then enable communication of Fairtrade impact to the public, deliver higher level of transparency to our commercial partners and support meaningful and data-driven engagement with our key stakeholders to build global commitment for further action in support of Fairtrade farmers and the workers.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Lead and / or support access to, aggregation, analysis, translation and visualisation of aggregated impact information to support communication of Fairtrade impact to our commercial partners, the general public and the funding community
Lead and / or support development and maintenance of knowledge management system and repository of evidence organising Fairtrade-generated and external impact information
Develop / review validation processes and quality assurance (QA) on use of all sources of impact information and ensure that agreed processes and legally sound practices are followed to ensure delivery of evidence based and accurate engagement and communication with our partners and the public
Provide technical support and upskill relevant teams in the use of Fairtrade Impact data to support their work
Support the generation of insights from sourcing impact data to help inform the design of programmes and expertise services for our commercial and funding partners.
Responsible for providing expert advice on data-related topics and to advance our mission and achieve our goals.
Work collaboratively with the Fairtrade System (especially Fairtrade International MEL team, our regional Producer Networks and other National Fairtrade Organisations) to share best practices, contribute strengthening Fairtrade impact-information infrastructures and ensure existing and new system-wide data policies and practices are integrated in Fairtrade Foundation teams’ ways of working
Represent Fairtrade Foundation in international working groups on relevant data topics ensuring, influencing decision making and keep internal stakeholders updated.
Work collaboratively with Senior Impact Analytics lead and other relevant senior stakeholders to drive development, review and evolution of Fairtrade Foundation data for impact products

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Demonstrated solid educational background, at least to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
Experience managing relationships, working and communicating with diverse internal stakeholder, such as commercial account managers, communication, campaign and marketing teams, technical and programme specialists
Previous professional experience in data management, analysis, insight generation or related fieldsExperience effectively managing, analysing and summarising complex data and presenting insights to diverse internal and external audiences through varied means, including but not limited to dashboards and data visualisation – to enable impactful communication, knowledge sharing and data-driven decision-making
