Role Synopsis:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the management of critical enterprise-grade Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and performance tuning, along with strong operational insight grounded in Enterprise Operations Management (EOM) and Service Delivery Management (SDM) principles. This role also offers the opportunity to drive data-driven decision-making by developing Power BI dashboards for operational visibility and performance analysis. The candidate must possess outstanding analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills to support high-availability systems across a dynamic IT landscape.
Must-Have Requirements:
Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
15+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in large-scale enterprise environments.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database versions such as 12c, 19c, and 21c.
Strong proficiency with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments with shell scripting skills.
Solid grounding in Enterprise Operations Management (EOM) including monitoring, capacity planning, and operational best practices.
Proven Service Delivery Management (SDM) experience with understanding of ITIL processes such as incident, problem, and change management.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, monitor, and optimize enterprise Oracle database systems for availability, performance, and security.
Implement and manage high-availability configurations using RAC and Data Guard.
Automate backup, recovery, and failover processes using RMAN and scripting.
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Contribute to operational excellence through capacity planning, monitoring, and incident resolution.
Support IT service management processes and compliance with organizational SLAs.
Provide strategic insights via dashboards and reporting on database performance and usage trends.
Desired Qualifications (Optional):
Experience developing Power BI dashboards for real-time operational insights.
Exposure to cloud-based database platforms such as OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure SQL Database.
Working knowledge of other RDBMS technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
