Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Oracle Developer to lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of financial web applications within a Credit/Customer-centric environment. This role focuses on Oracle database development, batch processing, and reporting, while ensuring high performance and scalability. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver robust solutions, and provide ongoing support. Additionally, the developer will mentor junior team members, maintain technical documentation, and uphold best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
β’ Collaborate with business units to gather and analyze business and technical requirements.
β’ Conduct feasibility and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
β’ Plan, organize, and report on project progress while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Development & Deployment
β’ Design and develop application and database components using Oracle technologies.
β’ Perform complex programming assignments following established standards and best practices.
β’ Analyze business models and customer requirements to build scalable and efficient solutions.
β’ Identify and mitigate technical risks in high-complexity projects.
Operational Management
β’ Maintain and enhance Accounts Receivable, Credit Collection, and Email Management applications.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve critical application issues.
β’ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for production support and issue resolution.
β’ Supervise and coordinate the efforts of other developers.
Incidental Functions
β’ Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks.
β’ Mentor and train development team members and apprentices.
β’ Manage tasks and projects using JIRA; maintain documentation in Confluence.
β’ Provide tier-2 on-call support and address performance issues.
β’ Participate in hiring, compliance, and audit-related activities.
β’ Perform application server maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and security configurations.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
β’ 8+ years of IT experience with a focus on Oracle database development.
β’ Extensive experience in Oracle 11g, Exadata, and UNIX/Linux/Solaris environments.
β’ Proficient in PL/SQL, SQL Loader, XML, Materialized Views, Triggers, and performance tuning.
β’ Experience with Oracle RAC clusters and handling large-volume data operations.
β’ Familiarity with Accounts Receivable systems and batch processing using UNIX scripts.
β’ Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Control-M, and Microservices/Boomi Services.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience or willingness to work with Java and J2EE technologies.
β’ Knowledge of multilingual character conversion and LOBs in PL/SQL.
β’ Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal audit processes.
