Job Title: Senior Developer (Python and Java) W2 only Location: Hybrid – Fairfax, VA Duration: 5+ Year Federal Contract Note this is a W2 role Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Developer with strong expertise in Python and prior experience as a Java Developer to support a long-term federal project. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications while ensuring compliance with federal standards and security requirements. Responsibilities: β€’ Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python (primary) and Java (secondary/legacy systems). β€’ Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. β€’ Enhance and maintain existing systems while modernizing legacy Java applications into Python-based solutions where applicable. β€’ Develop APIs, data integrations, and backend services to support enterprise workflows. β€’ Ensure application security, compliance, and performance standards required in federal environments. β€’ Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high-quality deliverables. β€’ Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to team collaboration. β€’ Provide production support and troubleshoot issues in existing applications. Required Qualifications: β€’ 10+ years of software development experience with proven hands-on coding in Python and Java. β€’ Strong experience with object-oriented programming, REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns. β€’ Proficiency with SQL/relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or similar). β€’ Experience working in federal projects or highly regulated environments. β€’ Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud platform β€’ Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. β€’ Excellent communication and documentation skills.
