Job Title: Senior WPF Engineer – Desktop Modernization Type: 6-Month Contract (W2 Only – No Sponsorship) Rate: $75–$100/hr Location: Remote (U.S. Based) Overview: We’re looking for a WPF expert to lead the modernization of a mission-critical desktop application used across the healthcare industry. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on transforming a legacy monolithic WinForms/WPF application into a modern, modular architecture—while maintaining a rich, responsive UI experience. If you have deep experience building and optimizing WPF applications, and you're passionate about clean architecture, performance, and maintainability, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: • Lead WPF development for a large-scale desktop application used for billing, scheduling, inventory, and practice management. • Refactor and modernize legacy WinForms components into WPF, with a focus on performance, usability, and maintainability. • Collaborate with the CTO and engineering team to design a scalable, service-oriented architecture. • Contribute to the transition from monolithic desktop to microservices and cloud-based infrastructure. • Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. • Explore cross-platform capabilities using MAUI (optional). Required Skills: • Expert-level WPF experience, including MVVM, data binding, templating, and performance tuning. • Strong background in .NET and .NET Core. • Experience modernizing legacy desktop applications. • Familiarity with WinForms and transitioning to WPF. • Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native design. • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and GitHub workflows. • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical leadership. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with MAUI or other cross-platform UI frameworks. • Knowledge of healthcare software or regulated environments. • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, test generation).
