Job Description: Location: Reston, VA (RTC – Onsite/Hybrid) Job Type: Contract – W2 About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Developer (NOT Admin) to join Fannie Mae’s engineering team. This role is heavily focused on Splunk Dashboard development – ideal for someone passionate about building business-facing dashboards, optimizing UI, and delivering actionable insights through Splunk. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Splunk Dashboards, Alerts, and Reports for system performance and reliability. Utilize Splunk Dashboard Studio and SPL programming to deliver advanced queries and analytics. Partner with business teams to design user-friendly dashboards that improve end-user experience. Integrate logs, metrics, and telemetry data from multiple applications to support SRE/observability concepts. Ensure dashboards interact seamlessly with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3). Apply development skills in Java or Python to extend dashboard functionality. Focus on UI/UX improvements within Splunk for business-facing dashboards. Must Haves Strong hands-on Splunk Dashboard Development (80–90% of the role). Splunk Developer Certification (required; Admin or other certs are a plus). Expertise in SPL programming. Proficiency in Splunk Dashboard Studio. Solid AWS knowledge (Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3). Background in Java or Python development. Familiarity with SRE/SLAs/observability concepts. Experience designing UI-friendly dashboards in Splunk. Nice to Have Understanding of OpenTelemetry (OTel) data formats. Experience in fast-paced, business-facing development roles.
