Job Description: Splunk Expert / Developer Lead (Java + AWS) Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Expert & Developer Lead with strong hands-on experience in writing advanced queries at runtime to debug and resolve production support issues quickly. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in Java development and have solid expertise in AWS cloud services, enabling them to bridge the gap between application development, cloud engineering, and production support. 5 to 10 years overall experience; 3+ years on Splunk is a MUST. This role requires a strong problem-solver who thrives in high-pressure environments, can lead incident resolution, and provide guidance to the development/support team while ensuring system reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities β€’ Splunk Expertise β€’ Write and execute complex Splunk queries in real-time to debug and troubleshoot production incidents. β€’ Build and optimize Splunk dashboards, alerts, and monitoring for proactive issue detection. β€’ Perform root cause analysis and create detailed incident reports based on Splunk data. β€’ Partner with support teams to accelerate MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution). β€’ Train our teams on Splunk, conduct brown bag sessions β€’ Application Development & Support β€’ Lead debugging sessions for Java-based applications and services. β€’ Provide fixes and enhancements for applications in Java/Spring Boot. β€’ Collaborate with DevOps and support teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation. β€’ AWS Cloud Engineering β€’ Support applications hosted on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.). β€’ Troubleshoot performance and integration issues within AWS environments. β€’ Contribute to building resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. β€’ Leadership & Collaboration β€’ Act as a lead developer, providing technical direction to the team. β€’ Work closely with support, QA, and DevOps to streamline incident handling and deployment pipelines. β€’ Mentor junior team members on Splunk, Java, and AWS best practices. Required Skills & Experience β€’ Splunk β€’ Advanced knowledge of Splunk queries, dashboards, and real-time troubleshooting. β€’ Ability to perform quick log analysis and identify system anomalies. β€’ Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise Security (SES) or IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) a plus. β€’ Development (Java) β€’ Strong hands-on coding experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices. β€’ Solid debugging and performance tuning skills. β€’ AWS β€’ Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM). β€’ Understanding of monitoring, logging, and distributed systems on AWS. β€’ General β€’ 6+ years of professional experience in application development and support. β€’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to handle high-pressure incidents. β€’ Excellent communication and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS). β€’ Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipeline). β€’ Knowledge of other observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). β€’ Prior experience in a lead/production support role.
