SQL Developer SSIS SSRS EDI X12 Files

We have a 6 month contract to hire for a seasoned Senior Application Development Engineer with 6–10 years of experience in SQL Server and SSIS development, complemented by strong skills in reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI. They hold a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field and bring proven expertise designing stored procedures, building ETL pipelines, and working with EDI X12 healthcare transactions to support claims, member, and provider data. Highly analytical and detail-oriented, they excel at delivering accurate, reliable solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams, and they add value through their healthcare domain knowledge, particularly in dental and vision data. 100% Remote. MUST HAVES: • 6+ years of experience • SQL Development • SSIS development • Reporting experience – SSRS/PowerBI or similar tooling • NICE TO HAVES:Healthcare background • Bachelors degree About the Role: • Some of the Data Engineering teams’ core responsibilities include:Creating, maintaining, and ingesting EDI X12 files (834, 835, 837, 277, 999) • Producing member and provider communications • Sending data feeds to populate downstream/external databases (APCD, Proprietary EDW, RTR) • Working with Dental and Vision claim, member, and provider data. • Extracting, transforming, and packaging data feeds for external clients. Responsibilities: Typical 8-5 ET daily schedule. Overtime is not expected. • The candidate will be spending 70% of their time creating/modifying stored procedures in SSMS. • Creating and modifying SSIS packages will account for 20% of their time. • Some time will be set aside for documentation, production support report creation.
