Job description
This is an administrative, not a developer, position. As the Ab Initio Lead Infrastructure Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of the Ab Initio ETL tool and the migration of its infrastructure to the cloud. You will support the implementation of on-premise and AWS Cloud data integration and data warehousing solutions, including EKS containerization for Ab Initio.
Responsibilities
β’ Administer the Ab Initio ETL tool, including its Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Meta Data Hub (MDH), and Operational Console.
β’ Lead infrastructure build and migration projects with minimal supervision.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve environmental issues affecting Ab Initio components.
β’ Design and develop automated ETL processes and architectures.
β’ Conduct code reviews for ETL code developed by the engineering team.
β’ Create Big Data pipelines to migrate data from on-premise systems to cloud storage like AWS S3 or EBS.
β’ Perform break-fix tasks and continuous development for production changes.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements, facilitate design sessions, and ensure adherence to enterprise policies.
β’ Apply and implement best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability, and application performance.
β’ Provide technical guidance to development teams.
β’ Document technical processes, designs, and solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Experience: 6+ years of experience in Ab Initio ETL tool administration, with at least 6 years of advanced knowledge in Ab Initio GDE, MDH, and Operational Console.
β’ Cloud & Databases: Experience with AWS (EKS, S3, DynamoDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, RDS, DB2).
β’ Infrastructure & Scripting: Strong experience with UNIX/Linux and SQL. Demonstrated experience with scripting and automation to build ETL processes and architectures.
β’ DevOps: Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.
β’ Methodology: Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working in an Agile environment.
β’ Soft Skills:
β’ Critical thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
β’ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate technical discussions and collaborate with various teams.
β’ Attention to detail: Proven ability to produce high-quality, well-documented work.
β’ Autonomy: Capable of performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience with DevOps or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
β’ Experience with AIX or Linux operating systems.
