Sr Data Engineer _Crude Data Exchange

Join the ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network as a highly skilled contract Senior Data Engineer in Houston, TX to drive innovation and deliver impactful data solutions for one of the world’s leading energy companies. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will architect and implement robust data foundations, enabling a global energy producer to maximize business value and foster a data-driven culture across the organization. You’ll work alongside talented professionals, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to projects that shape the future of energy. This is a short-term contract assignment in our client's Houston office beginning October 27, 2025 and ending April 24, 2026. Key Responsibilities • Design and build scalable, end-to-end data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, SAP) to support business objectives. • Lead the development and optimization of ELT processes, data modeling, integration, and transformation projects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategy and ensure successful rollout of data foundation initiatives. • Serve as a subject matter expert, presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders. • Mentor junior engineers, promoting continuous learning and technical excellence. • Coordinate change management, incident resolution, and problem management processes. • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery, minimizing costs and maximizing value. • Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Communities of Practice (CoP) Required Qualifications • Mastery of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, SAP. • Expert-level proficiency in ELT development and data modeling. • Skilled in data integration, ingestion, manipulation, and processing. • Proficient with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). • Hands-on experience with data tools and services: Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift, SonarQube, PyTest Preferred Qualifications • Experience leading project management or Scrum teams. • Familiarity with planning tools (BPC) and external technical ecosystems. • Documentation experience with MKDocs or similar platforms Personal Attributes • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous professional growth. • Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Proactive in supporting organizational change and technology adoption. • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and integrity Preferred Skills: • Experience managing or running a Scrum team Familiarity with Planning/BPC systems • Exposure to external technical ecosystems • Experience with MKDocs or similar documentation tools Optional Skills: • Experience in project management or leading a Scrum team • Experience with BPC or Planning tools • Exposure to external technical ecosystems • MKDocs documentation experience Powered by JazzHR IH3QC7sqbY
