Role description
Join the ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network as a highly skilled contract Senior Data Engineer in Houston, TX to drive innovation and deliver impactful data solutions for one of the worldβs leading energy companies. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will architect and implement robust data foundations, enabling a global energy producer to maximize business value and foster a data-driven culture across the organization. Youβll work alongside talented professionals, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to projects that shape the future of energy.
This is a short-term contract assignment in our client's Houston office beginning October 27, 2025 and ending April 24, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and build scalable, end-to-end data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, SAP) to support business objectives.
β’ Lead the development and optimization of ELT processes, data modeling, integration, and transformation projects.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategy and ensure successful rollout of data foundation initiatives.
β’ Serve as a subject matter expert, presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
β’ Mentor junior engineers, promoting continuous learning and technical excellence.
β’ Coordinate change management, incident resolution, and problem management processes.
β’ Drive efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery, minimizing costs and maximizing value.
β’ Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Communities of Practice (CoP)
Required Qualifications
β’ Mastery of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, SAP.
β’ Expert-level proficiency in ELT development and data modeling.
β’ Skilled in data integration, ingestion, manipulation, and processing.
β’ Proficient with version control and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
β’ Hands-on experience with data tools and services: Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift, SonarQube, PyTest
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience leading project management or Scrum teams.
β’ Familiarity with planning tools (BPC) and external technical ecosystems.
β’ Documentation experience with MKDocs or similar platforms

β’ Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
