Position: Sr. Data Consultant (with Looker and BigQuery) Location: Wilmington, MA Duration: 12 Months contract position Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Developer with 10+ years of overall development experience and significant hands-on expertise in Looker and Google BigQuery (BQ). The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing end-to-end BI and analytics solutions to support business decision-making. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Looker dashboards, reports, and data models using LookML. • Work extensively with Google BigQuery to manage large-scale data, optimize queries, and ensure performance efficiency. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions. • Design and implement data modeling strategies (Star/Snowflake schema) for reporting and analytics. • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to ensure smooth data integration from multiple sources. • Establish best practices for Looker development, version control, and performance tuning. • Mentor junior developers and guide the analytics team in Looker and BQ development practices. • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, dashboard issues, and system bottlenecks. Required Skills and Qualifications: • 10+ years of overall software/data development experience. • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Looker development (LookML, visualization, dashboard design). • Strong working knowledge of Google BigQuery query optimization, performance tuning, and data pipeline integration. • Advanced SQL skills with experience handling large datasets. • Proven experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics architecture. • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and tools. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and its ecosystem. • Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). • Knowledge of Python, Airflow, or Dataflow for automation and data orchestration.
