Role description
Position: Sr. Microsoft Fabric Consultant Location: USA-Remote Duration: Long Term Contract Job Summary: Requirements We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer experienced in building and optimizing data solutions using Microsoft Fabric. The role involves working across Fabric’s unified platform β€” including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Power BI β€” to design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics environments. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric. β€’ Ingest, transform, and model data from multiple sources using Data Factory (Fabric Pipelines) and Dataflows Gen2. β€’ Build and manage Lakehouses, Warehouses, and OneLake storage for scalable data processing. β€’ Collaborate with analytics and business teams to design semantic models in Power BI. β€’ Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices within Fabric. β€’ Optimize performance and cost efficiency across Fabric workloads. β€’ Integrate Fabric solutions with other Microsoft services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Power Platform). β€’ Automate data validation and quality checks using Fabric Notebooks (Python/Spark) or Data Activator. β€’ Support migration from legacy data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, or SQL Server) to Fabric. β€’ Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues using Fabric monitoring tools. Required Skills & Experience β€’ Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Power BI). β€’ Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for data transformation. β€’ Experience with ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and performance tuning. β€’ Understanding of Medallion architecture (Bronze–Silver–Gold layers). β€’ Experience working with Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory v2) preferred. β€’ Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and security concepts. β€’ Hands-on with Power BI datasets, semantic models, and DAX preferred. β€’ Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600). β€’ Prior experience in Azure data ecosystem migration to Fabric. β€’ Exposure to real-time analytics and event-based data solutions. β€’ Experience with ML model data preparation in Fabric Notebooks
