Job Title – Competitive Strategy & Insights Manager (BA III)
Location – Remote (PST)
Duration – 4 months contract (potential extension)
Max Pay Rate - $48.88/hr. on w2
The Manager, Competitive Strategy & Insights (Temporary) will lead international market sizing and competitive benchmarking for fashion / collectibles. This role is highly analytical and execution-focused, with a strong emphasis on data synthesis, modeling, and strategic insight generation.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct international market sizing analyses across key geographies using multiple data sources (internal data, third-party reports, web data, and benchmarks)
• Build bottom-up and top-down Excel models to estimate TAM, category penetration, and growth trends
• Delve into financial statements and reports to understand key trends and build out models
• Analyze competitor performance and positioning (e.g., traffic, GMV proxies, pricing, supply dynamics) across regions
• Develop standardized Excel frameworks to track market size, growth rates, and competitor metrics over time
• Create and maintain clean, scalable datasets by aggregating and normalizing data from multiple sources
• Perform quantitative benchmarking across competitors, markets, and categories to highlight relative positioning
• Conduct in-depth desktop research and synthesize it into quantitative modeling and qualitative insights to inform business performance and strategy
• Develop and manage vendor partnerships to ensure the best quality of data; proactively identify gaps and drive solutions
• Support leadership and cross-functional teams with data-driven insights for strategic planning and decision-making
• Manage multiple ongoing projects in an organized manner, including developing clear project plans, partnering with stakeholders, and delivering key outputs on time
What You Need to Succeed:
• BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience in strategy, analytics, consulting, or e-commerce insights
• Strong business acumen in e-commerce or marketplace models (e.g., buyer/seller dynamics, pricing, assortment, conversion drivers)
• Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis
• Strong structured problem-solving and quantitative reasoning capabilities
• Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights and compelling executive-level narratives
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence mid-level and senior stakeholders
• Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• High ownership, curiosity to understand internal and external trends, and a continuous improvement mindset
• Collaborative with a positive, easy-to-work-with approach
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
• Experience working with large, complex datasets
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree
