Test Specialist

Title: Test Specialist (Manual and Automated)- WCAG Compliance- 3 roles Location: 100% remote- EST or CST working hours preferred (Ok with MST and PST based if you can flex their hours) Contract Duration: 4-5 Months Interview Process: 1 interview, 60 minute technical screening We are seeking a highly skilled Testing Specialist III for a 5-month contract to support both mobile and web platforms, with primary emphasis on mobile applications (iOS and Android). This senior-level role requires strong experience in both manual and automated testing, with proven expertise in Perfecto or Appium and proficiency in automation using Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Accessibility testing is a core requirement for this role, experience with AXE DevTools for mobile and a deep understanding of accessibility standards is essential. The Testing Specialist III will lead and execute complex testing activities, ensuring quality and compliance across the software development lifecycle. Due to incoming accessibility compliance requirements to their industry, they need to be WCAG compliant by April 2026. Goal is for first phase to be complete by 12/2025 and then have another 3rd party audit to see if they missed anything. Role will follow a standard scrum and sprint schedule, will be assigned tasks in Jira and complete tickets. Will integrate to their current dev team (10-15 engineers on their team now) Key Responsibilities • Lead and execute manual and automated testing efforts for complex projects across multiple platforms. • Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, including test plans, data, and environments. • Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements. • Identify high-risk areas and create targeted test plans for mitigation. • Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and mandatory accessibility testing to ensure compliance with standards. • Utilize AXE DevTools and other accessibility frameworks to ensure all deliverables meet accessibility guidelines. • Coordinate and oversee end-to-end testing across systems and platforms, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes. • Monitor and track test execution, ensuring adherence to defined quality standards. • Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes. Required Skills and Experience • 5+ years of experience in QA/software testing, with significant automation exposure. • Proven hands-on experience with Perfecto or Appium for mobile testing. • Automation scripting expertise in Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript. • Strong manual testing skills and understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies. • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and best practices, with the ability to collaborate closely with development and product teams to define accessibility goals, select appropriate tools, and ensure WCAG compliance throughout the project lifecycle. • Accessibility testing experience is required, AXE DevTools for mobile or equivalent frameworks. • Strong communication and collaboration skills in remote/hybrid work environments. • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines. Education and Certifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent work experience. • ISTQB, CSTE, or other relevant certifications preferred.
