Job Location: Dallas, TX 75201 (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Description:
We are seeking an experienced ThoughtSpot Consultant to join our team on a 6-month contract engagement. This role will focus on data modeling best practices, governance, security, user enablement, and training within our ThoughtSpot self-service BI platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in ThoughtSpot architecture, content management, and user adoption strategies.
This is a highly collaborative role, working with data experts, business users, and IT to ensure scalable, secure, and effective use of ThoughtSpot across the organization.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
β’ Modeling Best Practices & Enablement
β’ Provide expert guidance on creating scalable, performant, and reusable data models.
β’ Define naming conventions, logical structuring, and optimization for improved adoption and performance.
β’ Data Governance
β’ Establish/document best practices for data ownership, lineage, and access control (tables vs. models).
β’ Ensure compliance and reliability in data usage across business units.
β’ Security Framework
β’ Review and implement user/group permissions, role-based access, and row-level security (RLS).
β’ Integrate with identity and access management systems for secure data access.
β’ Organization & Housekeeping
β’ Recommend content management strategies (tags, naming conventions, archiving unused content).
β’ Maintain a clean and organized SpotApp, Liveboard, and Answer environment.
β’ User Support
β’ Host regular office hours for end-user assistance.
β’ Troubleshoot platform, access, and performance challenges.
β’ Training & Adoption
β’ Design and deliver structured training sessions for analysts, modelers, and business users.
β’ Tailor training to improve adoption, self-service capabilities, and confidence in using ThoughtSpot.
Qualifications
β’ Strong, hands-on expertise with ThoughtSpot platform (modeling, security, governance, and user enablement).
β’ Proven experience in BI self-service platforms, data governance, and scalable data modeling.
β’ Familiarity with security frameworks including role-based access control and RLS.
β’ Experience leading training, workshops, and user support sessions.
β’ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
β’ Ability to work independently in a contract/consulting capacity.
